"Follow" Along!

There are a couple great reasons the Vanport City Triathlon has migrated from Facebook to its very own blog for 2011.
  1. There are people who still aren't on FB.  I know, was hard for me to believe too.
  2. There was a problem with the FB Event where some people could see that they'd been invited and others couldn't.
  3. This will more easily allow VCT participants to stay tuned for important announcements and training events as we move closer and closer to August 20, 2011.
The best way to stay tuned is to "Follow" this blog.  To the right you'll notice the "Follow" button under the Peloton heading.  Click on that and when the window pops up, click on "Follow This Blog."  As an added bonus, if you chose to follow publicly (recommended), you're automatically added to The Peloton.

Once you're following the VCT blog, you can adjust your settings to automatically get e-mail updates when something important is added to the blog and/or you can add the blog to your RSS feed.

I'm really excited about what this blog means for the Vanport City Triathlon in 2011!  Join The Peloton and stay informed!

The Vanport City Triathlon is back for 2011!

Having done this a couple times now, there are 2 basic types of participants: those who show up on race day to give it a shot (or just enjoy the party!) and those who are going to train.

If you're in the 1st group, I'm really excited to see you in Aug! The course will be the same as last year's (with the possible exception being you may have the additional option of doing an alternate, shorter bike route).

If you're in the group that's going to train for race day, then this page is for you. I've already created a training sched (including monthly practice triathlons) and will be posting loads of other resources to help you prepare in the weeks and months ahead.

It's been great having so many friends join us for this event the past two years and this year I'm hoping to have the biggest group yet! If you know someone who might be interested, please add him/her to the invite list.

More info will follow. For now save the date and stay tuned for Portland's own Give-It-A-Try-Athlon!
